Construction Workshops #2 around the Concept of Wiki Farm OuiShare Factory is a temporary fabrication space where people can participate freely in both digital fabrication and discussions around common problems, and share ideas about ongoing and new projects.
For WikiFarm Factory Workshop, we will be joined by the co-founders of the Open Source Beehive Project Jonathan Minchin and Tristan Copley-Smith, P2P Foodlab founder Peter Hanappe, Jay Hudnall from Tripalium and the one and only Marc Chataigner from WoMa.
Open Source Hardware will be linked with urban agriculture and small-scale energy production. Participants will be introduced to open source composts, windmills and learn to make open source beehives, as well as about the broader theme of peer-to-peer food production.
The Factory #2 workshop objectives are to build some elements of a WikiFarm
1 Barcelona_Warre_Hive - Open Source Beehive
2 Colorado_Top_Bar - Open Source Beehive
1 connected greenhouse - P2PFoodLab
1 windmill - Trypallium
1 home compost bin - Marc Chataigner
In addition, the team from DOOD will build and assamble a 3D printer model, the DOM.
The Factory #2 workshop objectives are also about connecting people around important topics common to all engaged projects. The topics will be displayed on the #OSFFactoryTalks black board and the discussion will happen around the #OSFfactory + #MakersMeet tables.
Peter, Marc and Justyna will happily welcome participants who are eager to think and co-design next versions of these WikiFarm elements and prototype them with the Trotec laser cutter.
